INCREASING FIREFIGHTERS
The Proposed Budget allocates funding for four
academy classes to keep stations adequately
staffed and able to provide timely emergency
response. This will allow the Department to hire
260 new firefighters in the next fiscal year.
EQUITY AND INCLUSION STAFFING
Funding for the establishment of a Bureau to
mediate conflict, implement a strategic diversity
and inclusion plan, mitigate complaints and
grievances, and facilitate a positive work
environment within the Department.
